Kate runs the HAX accelerator in San Francisco, CA. HAX is the world’s first and most prolific accelerator for hardware and connected devices, with offices in San Francisco and Shenzhen, China. HAX is a program of SOSV, a global venture capital firm with over $400M in assets under management.

Before HAX, Kate spent four years with Target Corporation, where she was responsible for over $500m in total product spend across the beauty, home goods, baby products and IoT categories. Most recently, Kate was Director of Merchandising for Target’s Consumer IoT team in San Francisco, where she focused on preparing Bay Area hardware startups for launch. Through HAX and Target, she has helped over 100 startups launch and sell products.

Kate is a mentor at Alchemist Accelerator, ReadWrite Labs, and Scrum Ventures’ Nintendo Switch accelerator. She is also on the Advisory Board for Amazon Launchpad. Kate has spoken on the topic of launching products extensively around the United States.

Prior to her retail experience, Kate was a strategy consultant in Boston and London focusing on M&A transactions in the pharma, retail and entertainment industries. Kate has her MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University and a BA in Studio Art and Economics from Kenyon College.
